And as always, to keep any warranty valid you need to have the product maintained per the manufacturer’s recommendations. A couple of maintenance items you can do yourself:  Replace the filter every one to three months. If you employ washable filters, you should clean them once a month, and keep debris such as grass or weeds away from your outdoor air conditioning or heating unit. Generally, two feet of clear space around the unit is recommended. The rest of the maintenance you need to leave to the professionals.
