Smart $aver Program

Woman point to a home - Duke's Smart $aver Program - Greer's Hearing & Air

The Duke Energy Smart $aver Program offers rebates for North Carolina Duke Energy customers who install qualifying HVAC systems in existing homes. This program offers homeowners an excellent opportunity to reduce energy costs while upgrading their HVAC systems.

To be eligible, new equipment must be installed by a participating contractor, like Greer’s Heating & Air, and meet specific requirements such as duct sealing and ECM blower motors. The program offers different rebate amounts depending on whether the installation is due to critical component failure or early replacement. Rebates are issued via prepaid Mastercard after successful application submission.

Rebate Submission

After Greer’s Heating & Air completes the installation, they will handle submitting the rebate application and any required documentation. Once Duke Energy (Trade Ally) receives and approves the application, you can expect to receive the rebate within 4-6 weeks. The rebate from the Smart $aver Program will be issued via a prepaid Mastercard, which you can choose to receive as a physical card by mail or more quickly as a digital Mastercard that can be added to your virtual wallet on your iPhone or Android device.

If eligible, customers can receive rebates for new construction, except for equipment labeled as “retrofit only” on the application. Duke Energy may change rebate levels or qualifying efficiency criteria at any time. They also reserve the right to modify or discontinue the approved incentive amount due to regulatory changes, measurement and verification outcomes, updates to codes and standards, equipment costs, or other valid reasons.
